Walking in Cornwall – the South West Coastal Path

In around 2 weeks I’m doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, which is why, with a long weekend due in Cornwall this weekend – I’m sat here looking at a walk or two I can get in,  to keep the training going. Yes, I could be spending quality time in The Chain Locker or other pubs in Falmouth (ok – I probably will anyway) but I’m also working out some parts of the South West Coastal Path that I could do.

My son has done a few parts of the path as he’s based down there (I’m helping him move house which is why I’ll be down for the weekend) and we used to camp above Coverack so I know there’s some spectacular cliff walks to take in -  but I wasn’t sure what distances each section covered and I don’t have time to get any OS maps ordered.

But that’s not needed now, I found this great site : http://www.southwestcoastpath.com/index.cfm.

Screen grab of http://www.southwestcoastpath.com/index.cfm website home pageA joint venture by Natural England and the National Trust I think.

I’m still working out which bits to do but hopefully I can get a few miles in and stretch my legs. And add back all those calories lost in the day with a pasty and beer or two, sat looking at Falmouth Harbour :-)

  1. Walks and Walking says :

Walking the SWC Path is all about the reward at the end of the walk – beer and pasty!
