I have been helping to organise an outdoors themed day – Marsden Adventure Outdoors.
And thought I’d share it here for any readers in the West Yorkshire / Saddleworth / Peak District region (or further afield!) who wanted to come along.
This will be part of the Pennine Prospects Walk and Ride 2016 Festival.
The Marsden Adventure Outdoors day will be on Saturday 10th of September and there’ll be lots of talks, stalls, workshops and films lined up.
And some off-site things too (e.g a family climbing session run by Huddersfield Climbing Centre, up at nearby Pule Hill).
It’s going to be great.
And if it’s not, you can’t harangue me on the day: I’ll be on my way back from a trip to the Cairngorms.
Classic double booking. Ah well.
Marsden Adventure Outdoors day
The Adventure Outdoors day is hosted by the Electric Theatre Cinema, a great community cinema organisation that I’m involved with. Hence films being central to the day.
Daytime from 2pm:
There will be various short outdoors / adventure films showing in the afternoon.
And stalls, talks and workshops from a range of organisations covering mountain biking, wild swimming, road cycling, a bike clinic, hiking in the area, climbing, outdoors activities for kids.. and more.
The main film (with themed food beforehand) will be shown in the evening but is restricted to ticket holders – so grab a ticket if you are interested!
The film will be ‘K2 and the Invisible Footmen’.
If you want to come to the film and food event in the evening (the food is always brilliant), book tickets asap.
Details on how to get tickets are on the Facebook events page (see the link below).
If you are anywhere near the area do come along.
I’m just sorry I won’t be there to say hello!
