I spent some of tonight reading about the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge and what I was letting myself in for. And ordering a map of the area. I think the Red Cross team (who I signed up with to support) will be around to assist any lost walkers but I thought it was best I had a map of my own, as I’m doing this solo and I don’t know the area at all.
I’m pretty confident now about the distance (approx 25 miles) and tackling the not to be sneezed at ascent heights (these are the three highest peaks in Yorkshire – Pen-y-ghent (691m), Whernside (728m), and Ingleborough (723m) )
Okay, hold that thought. I’ll be more confident after I do the Rhinogs walk in a couple of weeks. Remember, I’m kind of (allow me ‘kind of’, please) middle-aged and have been pretty sedentary up to a few months back. And I have hereditary high blood pressure that I’m regulating, so this isn’t a breeze. Pity me. Better still, sponsor me. The work the Red Cross do internationally and here in the UK is amazing. I think so enough to do this challenge. And to make an idiot of myself in this lovely banner below.
