I was contacted by Merrell’s marketing partner (BrandNation) as I was in the planing stage for a trip to the USA. This was mostly an empty-nester road trip for Mrs k and I, taking in two cities (Brooklyn/ NYC and Boston) but I had a couple of hikes planned. So the offer of a pair of the new Merrell Allout Sieve hiking sandal was very welcome.
Kit test
Kit Review – @Kitshack – SueMe bamboo Tee
Before I headed off to Harris and Lewis I was contacted by Anth at KitShack, who asked me if I wanted to try out one of the products from the online shop. I was after a new wicking / base layer T Shirt, so that was good timing: within a couple of days I was sent the SueMe Arctic Moss Force Of Nature bamboo Tee.
Kit Review – Target Dry Titanium Xtreme Waterproof Fleece
I was contacted by Target Dry Just before I headed off to Harris and Lewis for a week of hills hiking and coastal walks (post coming soon). Which was really good timing, as the Target Dry Titanium Waterproof Fleece / jacket that they supplied – FOC for review – fast became a staple for the week.
Kit Review – Jack Wolfskin Ultravision Softshell
This is the last kit review for 2014 and it’s actually a ‘local’ one in that I was contacted by Outdoor World who are a Huddersfield-based outdoors retailer (they serve the whole of the UK though, via the website at Outdoor World Direct).
Kit Review – SealSkinz Tait Beanie
As happens sometimes I was approached by a clothing manufacturer to try out some of their kit. In this case it was SealSkinz – which was pretty timely as I was planning a trip to Wales and the weather forecast was looking pretty wet.
Kit Review – Regatta Softshell Jacket from Outdoor Look
I was contacted a couple of weeks ago by someone who had been searching for guides on how to connect and engage with bloggers (as part of the marketing mix for their business). Sara had found my digital marketing blog (my day job) and by happy coincidence she realised I was also an outdoors type – so she gave me a shout.
She was looking to connect with walkers who might want to try out both some kit ( a softshell jacket) and also the online shop and fulfillment service from her company Outdoor Look. The disclaimer part here of course is that I went through the search and browse/ selection process and had a good look around the site but the softshell was then sent out FOC to me to review and keep.
